Edit and write walkthroughs
Adjust the workflows Skavelo drafted, or write your own.
Skavelo's drafts are a starting point. You know your product best, so review the workflows for your most common tasks and adjust them where needed.
Editing a workflow
On the Product map tab, open a workflow to edit it.
| Field | Tips |
|---|---|
| Name | The task as your users would describe it, for example "Create a new invoice" |
| Description | What users will have done, in one sentence. Skavelo uses it to match questions, and shows it before a walkthrough nobody asked for |
| Steps | The instructions, in order |
Each step can also have a title and details: a short heading, like "Choose the customer", and a sentence or two for someone new, such as why the step matters or what to have ready. Skavelo drafts them where they help; click Add a title and details under a step to write your own. They show on the card beside the highlighted button. Steps without them show only the instruction.
Wrap button and field names in double asterisks, such as Click **New invoice** in the top right, to show them in bold. You can reorder steps with the arrows, add new ones, or remove ones that aren't needed.
Each step shows whether it points at the control on the page, or shows the instruction only. Steps you keep from Skavelo's draft keep pointing at their buttons, even after you reword them. Steps you add yourself show the instruction without highlighting a button.
Once you save, the workflow becomes your team's version, and learning runs won't change or redraft it.
Writing a new workflow
Click New workflow, enter a name, a description and at least one step, then click Create workflow. Steps in a workflow you write show the instruction in the widget without highlighting a button, so name the button clearly, for example Click **Export CSV** in the top right.
Deleting a workflow
Delete a workflow when it's no longer accurate or useful. Skavelo stops offering it immediately. A workflow drafted by Skavelo may be drafted again by a future learning run if your screens change.
