Learning runs

How Skavelo learns, how often it re-learns, and how to follow a run.

A learning run is one pass over your websites and web app. Skavelo reads each page, turns its content into knowledge for answers and, for your web app, updates the product map.

When runs happen

TriggerWhen
First runWhen you add your first website
Started by youWhen you click Learn now, or save a new or edited website
ScheduledAutomatically, every week or every day, while Auto-learn is on
After a deployWhen your deploy pipeline calls the Skavelo API; see Re-learn after each deploy

Auto-learn

Auto-learn keeps Skavelo current as your product changes. It's on by default, every week. On the Learning tab you can switch it to Daily, or turn it off. When it's off, Skavelo only learns when you click Learn now.

Auto-learn is on Starter and above. On the Free plan, Skavelo still learns every website you add in full, and you can re-learn once a month per agent with Learn now. See Plans and billing.

Re-learning is efficient: Skavelo checks each page and only processes the ones that changed since the last run. Answers keep working throughout a run, using the knowledge from earlier runs.

Following a run

While a run is in progress, the Learning tab shows how many pages Skavelo has read and an Activity log of what it's doing, including pages it skipped and why. Past runs are listed under History, with how many pages were new or changed and how much knowledge was saved.

You can pause a run and resume it later from where it stopped, or cancel it. Cancelling discards what that run learned so far, but knowledge from earlier runs stays, so answers keep working.
